Oxbow Lakes Small-Scale Fishermen Project
The Oxbow Lakes provide the entire community living around them with a source of animal protein and income. People with landholdings of 2.5 acres or less are dependent on the lakes for their food and livelihood. The project helped these part-time and full-time fishers with activities related to fish cultivation. In this way, it not only helped these functionally landless people to boost their incomes, but also increased the productivity of the Oxbow Lakes and their adjacent waterways.
