Second Artisanal Fisheries Development Project
This was the second phase of the Artisanal Fisheries Development Project, IFAD’s first project in the country. In this phase the project’s objectives were to:
- increase incomes and improve the living conditions of artisanal fishers
- support the establishment of a resource management policy
- develop fishers’ associations and service providers, and establish a financial mechanism to ensure the viability of the artisanal fishing subsector
- consolidate the productive potential achieved in the first phase of the project
