White Nile Agricultural Services Project - IFAD
White Nile Agricultural Services Project
The project area comprised the irrigated areas of the provinces of Ed Dueim, El Geteina, Jebelein and Kosti. With the recent liberalization of markets, farmers can now own and control water distribution services and crop production, but they need help in exploiting this opportunity to become farm entrepreneurs.
The objective of the project was to increase incomes and productivity by rehabilitating irrigation schemes and guiding the transition of smallholder irrigation operations into workable institutions run by farmers.
