National Programme for Rangeland Rehabilitation and Development - Phase I
The goal of the programme is to reduce environmental degradation of rangeland resources by introducing sustainable management practices. The programme aims to:
- provide information on the current status of rangeland resources
- develop a national pastoral resources assessment monitoring system for the rangelands
- enhance environmental awareness
- develop methods of participatory planning with local communities for rehabilitation and management of grazing resources
- assist communities in implementation of rangeland development plans
