This programme is designed to sustainably improve the production and productivity of smallholder producers' livestock systems. It has two components:
- Sustainable animal disease control
- Sustainable livestock production.
The programme area is national in scope, but implementation will focus on districts prone to outbreaks of contagious bovine pleuropneumonia or East Coast fever and districts to which these diseases may spread. Activities will target poor smallholder livestock households, particularly those headed by women or young people.
