The Asia Pacific Farmers’ Program (APFP) aims to improve the livelihoods and food security of small-scale farmers in 29 countries in Asia by working with farmers’ organisations.
The programme builds on the lessons from the Medium-Term Cooperation Programme and the ASEAN Farmers' Organisations Support Programme, as well as the rich experience of farmers’ organisations across Asia.
It is the result of consultations with stakeholders at every level and is implemented by the Asian Farmers' Association for Sustainable Rural Development, La Via Campesina and various national farmers organization.
The programme is funded by an IFAD grant of USD 3 million, an RPSF grant of USD 2 million, and USD 8 million in co-financing from the European Union.
