Joint Programme for the Sahel in Response to the Challenges of COVID-19, Conflict and Climate Change - SD3C-GRANT

The aim of the programme is to assist smallholders, particularly women and young smallholders living in border areas, to consolidate their livelihoods. The programme is expected to bring about a reduction in poverty of approximately 10 per cent in the programme area and to boost social, economic and trading activity in areas plagued by lawlessness and subject to climate variability and impacts that put smallholders’ resilience to the test. It will help to diminish the constraints that exacerbate conflicts associated with anthropogenic impacts on natural resources and difficulties in gaining access to productive resources.
