This document highlights the main results of the Crisis Response Initiative-funded activities in Malawi, including using the innovative Mbeya fertilizer.
Over the past few years, Information and Communication Technology for Development (ICT4D) has gained prominence, fostered by the fast pace of
progress in technology and growing evidence of the far-reaching impacts it can deliver.
Across components, the IFAD-supported programmes in Malawi have promoted a number of ICT4D solutions including: e-extension platforms; digitally powered learning tools for household training; crowdfunding; tailormade digital financial solutions; machine learning for impact analysis.
With a view to contributing to enhancing ICT4D knowledge management and sharing, and increasing awareness of ICT4D, the Malawi country team, in collaboration with the programme management units in-country, conducted a stocktaking exercise of ICT4D initiatives under implementation. This report presents several of the good ICT4D practices implemented in the Malawi portfolio.
Particular attention has been given to incorporating the perspectives and findings of the respective programme management units.
