IFAD is the only United Nations specialized agency and international financial institution exclusively focused on investing in rural communities. Since 1977, IFAD has been a leader in the designing and financing of people-centred rural and agricultural development projects. We invest in small farms and other rural small and medium-sized enterprises. We build rural economies, transform food systems and create jobs.
