The impacts of the war in Ukraine are shaking global food systems to the core, compounding the vulnerability caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and climate change. Those who will most immediately be impacted are the poorest people of the rural developing world.
This brief lays out the key elements of IFAD’s response to the global impacts of the war in Ukraine. Learning from IFAD’s vast experience in building resilience, our goal in responding to this new crisis is to protect the development gains and livelihoods of poor rural people, while reinforcing their resilience, focusing on the poorest and most affected countries.
