Results from Impact Assessments in Uzbekistan, Montenegro and Türkiye
Impact assessments of IFAD-supported projects in Uzbekistan, Montenegro and Türkiye demonstrate improved agricultural productivity and market access.
The Value Chain Development Programme (VCDP) develops cassava and rice value chains for smallholder farmers by building strong public–private–producer partnerships. It reduces post-harvest losses, strengthens food security and accelerates economic growth.
VCDP also works with smallholder farmers to help them adopt sustainable and climate-resilient practices and to diversify their diets, leading to better nutrition and health benefits.
Since the programme began, almost 100,000 rural people have benefited, in particular women and youth. The number of households participating in the programme that are living in poverty has decreased by almost 50 per cent.
