IFAD Livestock Stocktake 2010-2024
This brochure presents the main results of the IFAD livestock stocktake that took place in 2024, covering the period 2010-2024.
The vast majority of poor people live rural areas where the poverty rate is three times that of urban areas. Using IFAD11 impact assessment data on 21 projects, this brief provides a descriptive analysis of the socio-economic characteristics of IFAD’s target group.
In two-thirds of the countries analysed, more than half of IFAD’s target population has income under the international poverty line for low-income countries. About 47 per cent of IFAD’s target population is found to be multidimensionally poor, while a further 15 per cent is considered vulnerable to fall into poverty.
