Investing in rural people in Sao Tome and Principe
IFAD remains one of the most important technical and financial partners in the rural sector. Its work has led to the development of strategies and mechanisms to support poor people in rural areas.
This publication provides a better understanding of the present trends, opportunities, policies and actions to be taken to nourish the one billion additional people who will populate Africa in 2050 and to assess the changes needed to transform the agricultural systems (diversification, increase in productivity, etc.).
Through the IFAD 2020 Regional Workshop, a deeper analysis of the current and future agricultural challenges has been made focusing on seven countries: Senegal, Mali, Mauritania, The Gambia, Guinea Conakry, Guinea Bissau and Cape Verde.
This publication is in French with an introduction and annexes in English.
