Improving the livelihoods of artisanal fishers and their communities along Mozambique’s coastline

Estimated reading time: less than 1 minute

The IFAD-supported Artisanal Fisheries Promotion Project (ProPESCA) was implemented to improve the livelihoods of artisanal fishers and their communities living along Mozambique’s coastline.

In operation from 2010 to 2019, the project covered all seven coastal provinces and reached more than 55,000 households. Project activities supported the development of higher value fish, improved economic infrastructure, created financial services, strengthened institutions and improved nutrition.
