Rural futures in focus: Chad
Many of Chad’s rural people face ongoing fragility and crises. We caught up with Rachel Senn, IFAD’s Country Director for Chad, to learn more about the way forward.
"Tejaswini" means “a woman who is radiant”. And the one million Indian women who are part of the Tejaswini Rural Women’s Empowerment Programme, are indeed radiant.
Through their women's groups, they have received training in business development, technical skills and finance. Their success has not only been in business - the women are now taking on social and political leadership roles too. They have been resilient through the current crisis and have adapted their businesses to COVID-19 needs.
