Turning over a new leaf. How rural people in Madagascar cope with the impact of climate change

One in 7 people in Madagascar live below the poverty line, while 1 in 4 people live in zones at high risk of natural disasters, including cyclones and floods. Strong winds in the South of the island have made it much harder for small-scale farmers to produce or buy enough nutritious food to eat.

This was the case for Amina Sana who, until recently, had very little income and not enough to eat. But her life has been transformed after receiving livestock and training from the IFAD-supported FORMAPROD project.
