Closing the rural gender gap - Episode 66
In this episode, you’ll hear from the winners of this year’s IFAD Gender Awards and learn how they're building a prosperous, more gender-equal future for farming.
One in 7 people in Madagascar live below the poverty line, while 1 in 4 people live in zones at high risk of natural disasters, including cyclones and floods. Strong winds in the South of the island have made it much harder for small-scale farmers to produce or buy enough nutritious food to eat.
This was the case for Amina Sana who, until recently, had very little income and not enough to eat. But her life has been transformed after receiving livestock and training from the IFAD-supported FORMAPROD project.
