Creating dialogue at the national, regional and international level

IFAD convenes a number of global meetings and forums aimed at creating a more systematic dialogue between United Nations agencies and the rural communities we support.

These meetings institutionalize IFAD's consultation and dialogue with farmer organizations and indigenous peoples' representatives at the national, regional and international levels.

Farmers' Forum

The Farmers’ Forum was established in 2005. It is an on-going, bottom-up process of consultation and dialogue between organizations of smallholder farmers and rural producers from all over the world, and IFAD and our Member States.

Indigenous Peoples' Forum

Indigenous peoples around the world have repeatedly asked for a more systematic dialogue with United Nations agencies. In response, IFAD has taken a series of initiatives to establish such a dialogue.
