Water is essential for life. We need water to drink, for our food and for our health. Sadly, not everyone in the world has access to clean water. 1 in 7 people in the world live in areas with limited access to water. This number is likely to increase by 2025.

Growing populations, expanding cities, climate change and how resources are managed can all increase water stress on rural communities. That is why Sustainable Development Goal 6 aims to make sure that everyone has access to water and sanitation.
