Digital agriculture in Asia and the Pacific: Strategies for donor impact

11:00 – 12:30 CEST | 17:00 – 18:30 SGT

Over the last two decades, mobile phone and smartphone ownership, as well as broadband network coverage, have increased steadily throughout rural Asia. As a result, farmers and agribusinesses are increasingly able to use digital technologies to address the challenges they face, including limited access to markets. There are systemic challenges, however, that are in need of public sector and donor support, particularly to drive positive outcomes for small-scale farmers.

This webinar will launch a new report by Grow Asia, commissioned by IFAD, that illustrates how digital technologies are reshaping agriculture in the region.

Representatives of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), and IFAD will share their experiences with digital agriculture in Asia, including the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the acceleration (or lack thereof) of digital agriculture tools.
