The Committee on World Food Security (CFS) is the foremost inclusive international and intergovernmental platform for stakeholders to work together to ensure food security and nutrition for all. Using a multi-stakeholder, inclusive approach, CFS develops and endorses policy recommendations and guidance on a wide range of food security and nutrition topics.

Transforming agricultural innovation for people, nature and climate

In lieu of the Plenary, three high-level virtual plenaries were held between 13–15 October 2020 to keep food security and nutrition front and centre on the global sustainable development agenda.
- Took stock of the global food security situation, guided by the SOFI 2020 and the HLPE report on Building a Global Narrative Towards 2030
- Reflected on the impacts of COVID-19 on food security and nutrition and the global efforts needed to “build back better”
- Discussed the draft CFS Voluntary Guidelines on Food Systems and Nutrition and the draft CFS Policy Recommendations on Agroecological and Other Innovative Approaches, and their relevance to the objectives of the UN Food Systems Summit planned for 2021.
