Sustainable Food Value Chains for Nutrition

The Committee on World Food Security (CFS) will meet for its 43rd session in Rome, from 17- 21 October.

The special event Sustainable Food Value Chains for Nutrition is jointly organized by Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO),  International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD),  World Food Programme (WFP) and Bioversity International and will be held at FAO on Monday 17 October, 18:00 – 19:30 CEST.

It provides an opportunity for a broad-based dialogue on nutrition-sensitive approaches to value chain development as a way to shape sustainable and inclusive food systems for food security and nutrition outcomes at scale. And it brings together country representatives,  and other multilateral and bilateral cooperation agencies, civil society, foundations and research institutions, as well as the private sector.

A set of key issues and options will be discussed in the context of ongoing rural and structural transformation processes, as well as lessons learned,  good practice examples and scaling up trajectories, taking into account the challenges of ensuring policy coherence, institutional capacity development and operational synergies.

Follow the event via webcast, and join the conversation on CFS on social media using #CFS43.
