The United Nations (UN) has declared 12 September of each year as the International Day on South-South Cooperation.
Since 2017, the Rome-based agencies of the UN have jointly commemorated the day by organising a seminar to discuss the role and contribution of South-South and Triangular Cooperation (SSTC) in furthering the objectives of the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs.

This year’s event is hosted by WFP on the theme: Leaving no one behind in achieving SDG2: Opportunities for the Rome-based agencies to broker South-South and Triangular Cooperation after BAPA+40.
