The aim of the event is to look at remittances and financial inclusion through a gender lens to discuss how they can be fostered to achieving greater economic impact. The event will be attended by public and private sector actors and civil society stakeholders who can play an active role in promoting financial inclusion.
CeSPI's (Centro Studi di Politica Internazionale) report on women’s financial inclusion and the role of remittances, which focuses on four migrant communities in Italy (from Morocco, Philippines, Senegal and Ukraine), will also be presented.
Participants will discuss the links between women's financial empowerment, peace and security, the nexus between remittances and development, and the active role of migrant women in financial savings management. Actions to support and strengthen the process of their financial inclusion will also be presented.
The roundtable is organized by IFAD with the Aspen Institute Italia, the Aspen Initiative for Europe, and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with Centro Studi di Politica Internazionale (CeSPI) and WE-Women Empower the World.
