IFAD at the Perugia International Journalism Festival: Spotlight on Indigenous Peoples

The Perugia International Journalism Festival is Europe’s biggest annual media event that brings together journalists, media professionals and experts from around the world to discuss key issues facing the journalism industry. The festival aims to promote and strengthen independent journalism, freedom of speech and the role of media in fostering sustainable development. 

IFAD will host an event on ‘Making Reporting on Indigenous Peoples Issues Safe and Meaningful’. 

This event will delve into the complexities and obstacles faced by journalists when covering Indigenous Peoples issues and their link to environmental issues.

Panellists, including an Indigenous leader, specialized journalists and international experts will discuss how we can collectively create a safe environment that supports meaningful reporting, giving adequate voice and space for Indigenous Peoples to tell their own stories.
