The Near East and North Africa (NEN) regional presentation of the Rural Development Report (RDR) will be held on 8 December in Tunis, Tunisia. Organized in collaboration with the Tunisian Government, the event is expected to attract approximately 80 participants, including representatives of countries from the NEN region, international organizations, and members of the Tunisian Government. High- level speakers include Samir Attaieb, Tunisian Minister of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries; Essam Fayed, Egyptian Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation; and Kalthoum Hamazaoui, General Director, Ministry of Development, Investment and International Cooperation, Tunisia.

Périn Saint Ange, Associate Vice-President of IFAD Programme Management Department (PMD), will deliver both opening and closing remarks and Ashwani Muthoo, Director of IFAD Global Engagement Knowledge and Strategy Division, will present the RDR key findings.
Following the opening speeches and RDR presentation, there will be an interactive panel discussion moderated by Abdelkarim Sma, NEN Regional Economist. The panellists are:  Abdelmajid Ezzar, President of the Tunisian Union of Farmers and Fishermen; Mohamed Akrémi Hamdi, Director-General, Financing, Investment and Professional Organizations, Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries, Tunisia; Amira Gornass, Ambassador, Ambassador of Sudan to Italy, Chair of the Committee for World Food Security; Umida Islamova, Research Coordinator of Economic Transformation, Centre for Economic Research, Uzbekistan; and  Khalida Bouzar, Director, NEN Division, PMD, IFAD.
