Support to Farmers’ Organizations in Africa Programme

The Support to Farmers’ Organizations in Africa Programme (SFOAP) Main phase (2013 - 2018) is a continental programme which aims to strengthen the capacity of farmers’ organizations (FOs) in African countries and of their regional and pan-African networks. After 5-years implementation, the SFOAP programme is approaching its completion date.
The SFOAP workshop will bring together 50 FOs representatives from all over Africa and the Pacific including key partners (European Commission, AgriCord, French Development Agency, Swiss Development Agency).
The workshop represents an opportunity to:
- Take stock of and sharing the main lessons learnt and results achieved with the Programme in particular around its three main intervention areas: i) institutional development, ii) policy engagement and iii) economic services, access to markets and value chains and
- Hold discussions and consultations among FOs, IFAD and key partners to start preparing the inception for the new initiative that will be co-funded by the European Commission supporting Farmer's Organizations: FOs for Africa, Caribbean and Pacific (FO4ACP).
