Fighting poverty from space - Experiences using earth observation and GIS in IFAD projects
23 May 2019
In three expert talks, staff from IFAD-funded projects in Mali, Senegal and Cameroon will present how they have benefited from geospatial analysis from a large grant in West and Central Africa that is coming to an end.

The Earth observation technologies to transform smallholder agriculture in West and Central Africa (EODM) project provided earth observation and GIS services to four IFAD-funded projects in Western Africa since 2015. EODM developed products to support decision-making and M&E, and provided training to project staff. It applied geospatial analysis and tools to answer questions such as where best to place youth centres, where the greatest soil erosion risk was or where the greatest potential for value chain interventions were.
