Consultation on the Twelfth Replenishment of IFAD's Resources - Reconvened Second Session
22 - 23 July 2020
This is the reconvened second consultation of IFAD’s Twelfth Replenishment (IFAD12).
This process typically occurs every three years. It is a year-long endeavour that typically consists of four main meetings. It serves three important functions:
- It is the process by which IFAD mobilizes its core resources.
- It is an exercise in accountability by which IFAD reports to its Member States on its strategy, reform and performance, usually at the mid-term of the previous replenishment period.
- It provides an opportunity for feedback and strategic guidance from its Member States.
For IFAD12, the Governing Council determined that the Consultation shall be composed of 57 countries: 25 List A Member States, 10 List B Member States, 22 List C Member States.
Meeting documents can be downloaded here.
The aim of this reconvened second meeting is to confirm the emerging strategic priorities for IFAD12, and to discuss the details of the financing and resource allocation framework, the thematic and programme priorities and the expected results.
This agenda provides an opportunity to discuss the major roadblocks facing IFAD12, in an effort to facilitate the presentation of the IFAD12 draft report at the third session in October and to ensure the timely completion of deliberations at the fourth session in December.
