Rural Livelihood Development Project (RLDP)

The goal of the project is to rebuild communities’ resilience to economic and environmental shocks and improve the livelihoods of poor, excluded and deprived people.

The development objective will be to improve the food security and the incomes of small-scale farmers through increased agriculture production and strengthened resilience to climate risks.

It is expected that the project will benefit 26,000 households, or 175,000 people, based on an estimate of 6.7 people in each household. The project will also directly target women and youth, reaching 64 per cent of women and 53 per cent of youth in the intervention area. This corresponds to 11,500 women and 9,600 youth.

The project will be implemented over five years.
