Rural Enterprises Project - Phase II
REP II builds on and expands the first phase, which was located in the Ashanti and Brong-Ahafo regions and benefited 16,000 families.
The second phase adopts a decentralized approach that was pioneered in the first phase with the active involvement of district assemblies and associations of local entrepreneurs.
The project's overall goal is to build competitive small and microenterprises in rural areas in eight of Ghana's ten regions. The Government works with its development partners, including IFAD, to provide poor rural people with good-quality, easily accessible and sustainable services, as well as training in:
• Business development
• Rural finance
• Technology transfer and promotion
• Partnership-building and policy dialogue
• Project management
