Stories of Resilience: Rural India in Pandemic Times

The COVID-19 pandemic gave rise to serious economic and livelihood challenges, especially for the rural communities of India. However, despite these challenges, there are many examples of resilience and innovation in rural India, many of which have resulted in successful business models for “the new normal”.

This publication documents some of these examples stemming from IFAD-supported livelihood projects in the most remote and fragile parts of India. Effective use of state machinery, community engagement through digital platforms, and convergence with parallel agricultural institutions are just a few important aspects of the initiatives.
