The designations "developed" and "developing" regions are intended for statistical and analytical convenience and do not necessarily express a judgment about the stage reached by a particular country or area in the development process.
Maps
The maps displayed on IFAD's web site are produced by IFAD's Geographic Information System (GIS) unit and are for reference only. The boundaries, colours, denominations and any other information shown on these maps do not imply, on the part of the IFAD, any judgment on the legal status of any territory, or any endorsement or acceptance of such boundaries.
Registered domains
IFAD offers and maintains information only on its registered domains: http://www.ifad.org and www.ifad.int. Any other website using "ifad" in its domain name has no affiliations with the International Fund for Agricultural Development.
The information on these domains is made available for the benefit of individuals and organizations interested and involved in the areas of rural development, rural poverty eradication, agriculture and sustainable development.
Misuse of IFAD’s name
Various scam emails purporting or implying to be from or associated with IFAD have been circulated in the past. Some of these emails request detailed information and/or money from individuals, businesses or non-profit organizations with the promise that they will receive funds or other benefits in return.
These emails sometimes carry the IFAD logo and emanate from or refer to an email address which is made to look like an IFAD or United Nations address.
