Daniel Anavitarte is the Regional Specialist of the LAC Division at IFAD. He contributes for the quality enhancement of the Division’s Loans and Grants during design and implementation. Daniel also supports Country Teams with analytical work for Knowledge Management and Policy Engagement throughout the portfolio.
Before joining IFAD in 2020, Daniel served as advisor Peru’s Vice-Minister of Finance where he focused on improving quality spending. Earlier positions in Peru’s public sector include General Director of School Management at the Ministry of Education, General Director of Economics and Finance at the Ministry of Environment and Poverty Targeting Specialist at the Ministry of Development. His experience also include working as Lecturer in Maastricht University and Universidad del Pacifico at the graduate level.
Daniel holds a MsC in Public Policy and Human Development from Maastricht University and United Nations University and a BA in Economics from Universidad del Pacifico.
