The Independent Office of Evaluation (IOE) conducted a Corporate-level evaluation (CLE) of Knowledge Management Practices in IFAD in 2023.

On 15 May, from 14.30 to 16.00 hrs (Rome time, CEST), IOE organized a corporate seminar to share and discuss the findings of the evaluation.

The seminar was an opportunity to discuss the actions needed to address the recommendations. It was attended by over 107 participants.

The CLE reviewed the relevance, effectiveness and efficiency of knowledge management (KM) practices at corporate, regional and country levels for the period 2016-2022.

It included five regional division studies and 20 country case studies. Overall, the evaluation incorporated inputs from approximately 550 stakeholders, including 190 current and former IFAD staff, through interviews, focus group discussions and case studies. The methodology and approach was reviewed by IOE’s Evaluation Advisory Panel and the IOE independent technical advisor Zenda Ofir.

The CLE report will be presented to the Evaluation Committee in June 2024 and to the IFAD Board in September 2024. It will be launched for an international audience in September.

The evaluation also produced some innovative tools to assess KM effectiveness. These tools are currently being rolled out.
