Transforming Food Systems: Directions for Enhancing the Catalytic Role of Donors

Donors have a responsibility to help ensure that food systems transformation is inclusive, non-discriminatory, and respects human rights, so that all those who live in poverty, suffer from hunger and malnutrition, or are vulnerable can benefit.

Based on the work of the Global Donor Platform for Rural Development over the last two years, this white paper presents a set of responses and priorities for donor engagement and a menu of options for future donor commitments.

The paper outlines why food systems need to be transformed, what is needed to deliver on sustainable food systems, and how this transformation can happen through seven action areas which follow the recommendations of the 2021 UN Food Systems Summit
