Women on a remote Pacific island are breaking cultural barriers by taking on roles that shape the future of their communities.
A project supported by IFAD on Hunga island, in the Tonga archipelago, gave women and men equal decision-making powers at the island's community meetings.
This changed life on the island for the better and created a team spirit that is allowing this small community to raise their own funds and take on their own large-scale infrastructure development projects.
