Maldives Country Strategy Note 2022 - 2023

IFAD's strategy in the Maldives has sought to reduce the vulnerability of communities in the islands and atolls whose livelihoods depend on small-scale agriculture and fishing. The programme focused on developing smallholder supply chains in agriculture and mariculture, through market-driven commercialization and diversification, with the intent of improving the incomes of small-scale producer households.

The present Country Strategy Note will build on the comparative advantages of IFAD in the country while consolidating the corporate priorities with increased focus on gender, youth, nutrition and climate change
