About IFAD
The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is a specialized agency of the United Nations, dedicated to eradicating poverty and hunger in developing countries. Its work in remote rural areas of the world helps countries achieve the Millennium Development Goals.
SDC and IOE renewed partnership
The Swiss Agency for Development Cooperation (SDC) and IOE renewed their partnership for evaluation-related activities. Read more
The Government of China and IOE signed Statement of Intent for a Partnership on Cooperation of Evaluation Capacity Development. Read more
Participation of IOE in the Quality Assurance process
From October 2013, IOE will take part in the IFAD-funded project design Quality Assurance (QA) sessions, in order to highlight findings and lessons from independent evaluations that may be of relevance to the project(s) being reviewed. This represents a further step forward towards strengthening the institutional evaluation learning and feedback loop.
IOE published the Corporate-level evaluation on IFAD’s efficiency. This is the first evaluation of its kind carried out in multilateral and bilateral development organizations and it may well be among the most complex and far-reaching type of evaluation ever conducted by IOE. Events
IOE organized a workshop on 20 September on Understanding Exceptional Projects, which is the learning theme of this year’s 2013 Annual Report on Results and Impact of IFAD Operations. Read more

Conflict of interest declaration for IOE consultants
IOE revised the Conflict of Interest Policy for consultants, as recommended by the Peer Review of IFAD’s Office of Evaluation and Evaluation Function. Read more
Berkeley University invites IOE Senior Evaluation Officer, Mattia Prayer Galletti, as Visiting Scholar. Prof. Lynn Huntsinger, Chair of the Division of Society and Environment, within the Department of Environmental Science, Policy and Management invited Mattia as Visiting Scholar to teach an interactive reading seminar for graduate students based on real-life experience.
