Advit Nath

Advit Nath is a Canadian national and Director and Controller of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). He is responsible for integrity and transparency in accounting, reporting and control of IFAD’s resources. He manages: Financial Reporting; Controllership; Corporate Fiduciary (e.g. supplementary funds, treasury/contributions accounting, fixed assets); Financial Systems and Data Integrity; and Transactions processing of operations (e.g. payroll, loans and grants).

With 24+ years of progressive leadership experience in international finance and development, he has worked in 5 continents in the private sector (KPMG), government (Canada and Australia), academia (Carleton University, Canada, Bocconi, UNINT & LUISS Universities, Italy) and in/with international organisations (UNDP, UNFPA, IFAD / UNESCO).

He holds a Masters degree in Human Rights Law (LL.M), is a Canadian Chartered Accountant (CA), Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), and has post-graduate education in Development Law and International Dispute Resolution from the University of London (UCL and Queen Mary).

He volunteered as Chairperson of the Audit Committee of the fourth largest Credit Union in New York State ($4.7 billion in assets), guest lectures at various Universities (Bocconi, Rome UNINT, LUISS, Coursera, European Academy of Law), regularly speaks at for a on Blockchain technology for development, and publishes articles for the Journal of Law and Rural Development as an advocate for human rights.
