Support Programme for Rural Microenterprise Poles and Regional Economies

Support Programme for the Rural Microenterprise Poles and Regional Economies (PROSPERER)

The programme focuses on increasing the incomes of poor rural people in five of the country's poorest and most densely populated regions. It will work towards creating efficient business development services that respond to the needs of small and micro rural enterprises, and it will build the capacity of these enterprises to identify their individual requirements. The programme will also assist in structuring traditional clusters into modern value chains – by line of business, to enable long-term sustainability and market expansion – with linkages to regional growth poles.

The programme will also support young adults who are entering the job market and will provide training and apprenticeship to assist them in eventually creating their own enterprises. It will also develop a network of professional apex organizations to offer financial and non financial services to small entrepreneurs.
