Project for Competitiveness and Sustainable Development in the South-Western Border Region

 

This project will be implemented in 42 municipalities in the departments of Intibucá, La Paz and Lempira. It will directly benefit approximately 13,500 poor rural families, including:

  • Smallholder farmers
  • Rural artisans
  • Small-scale vendors and micro-entrepreneurs.

The development objective of the project is to improve incomes, employment opportunities, food security and general living conditions of the poor rural population – with a focus on social inclusion and gender, and a view to reducing poverty and extreme poverty.

The project will pay special attention to the needs of members of vulnerable groups, such as women, young people and ethnic minority populations.
