Grants: An overview

In April 2015, IFAD Executive Board approved the IFAD Policy for Grant Financing. In addition, IFAD presented the related Implementation Procedures to its Executive Board, for information.

According to the new policy, the goal of IFAD grants is to broaden and add value to the support provided to smallholder farmers and rural transformation, thereby contributing to rural poverty eradication, sustainable agricultural development, and global food security and nutrition. Poor rural people and their organizations are central to every grant submission.
