Iraq Country Strategy Note

The current new CSN would cover the period 2022-2023. 

The goal of the CSN is to contribute to the reduction of poverty, food insecurity, vulnerability, and youth unemployment and building resilience in rural communities. Particular attention will be paid to the gender, youth, nutrition, and climate change aspects, consistent with IFAD12 mainstreaming priorities.

The CSN has the following two interlinked Strategic Objectives (SOs):

1. Strengthen the resilience of vulnerable rural populations and their production systems to climate change food and nutrition insecurity
2. Improve the performance of crop and livestock production systems and agribusiness through financial inclusion and strengthened value chains and off-farm SMEs
