Partnership for Resilient and Inclusive Small Livestock Markets Programme

The overall objective of PRISM is to reduce poverty by empowering poor rural men, women and youth to participate in the transformation of the Rwanda livestock sector and to enhance their resilience. The programme development objective is to improve food and nutritional security and the incomes of poor rural households through better performance of the value chains.

Geographic area

The IFAD-supported interventions will target a total of 15 districts across the northern, southern and western provinces. Districts and sectors will be selected on the basis of the incidence of poverty and food insecurity. The Enabel-funded interventions will have national coverage but will concentrate on areas with higher potential for market-oriented poultry and pig production.
