This is the third consultation of IFAD’s Twelfth Replenishment (IFAD12).
This event will showcase how Indigenous Peoples’ knowledge, cultural values, and sustainable management systems are essential to a more food secure future. It will address the increased challenges faced by Indigenous Peoples in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the importance of building mutually beneficial partnerships with their communities and organizations to leave no-one behind.
To coincide with the UN International Day of Rural Women, this first virtual event will elevate the value these women and girls bring to their families and communities even during the COVID-19 pandemic.
This year marks the first observance of the International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste. It also comes during the global COVID-19 pandemic, which has brought about a global wake-up on the need to transform and rebalance the way our food is produced and consumed.
