Alors que les femmes rurales sont au cœur de l’agriculture, elles ont moins de ressources, moins de temps à elles et moins de pouvoir de décision que les hommes. Comment le FIDA lutte-t-il contre ces inégalités entre les sexes dans les communautés rurales ? Tshering Choden, de la Division environnement, climat, genre et inclusion sociale, et Philippe Rémy, Directeur de pays, nous expliquent comment les interventions couronnées de succès au Malawi peuvent être transposées en Tunisie. Des femmes cheffes de file des zones rurales d’Amérique latine nous parlent ensuite des moyens envisagés pour réduire les inégalités femmes-hommes.

Ce mois-ci, Ilse Loango lance une minisérie sur la Fondation ACUA, une organisation à but non lucratif qui s’attache à promouvoir l’autonomisation des personnes d’ascendance africaine en Amérique latine. Hadija Jabiri, fondatrice d’EatFresh, nous parle de l’autonomisation des femmes dans les exploitations agricoles, et Judy Ling Wong, Présidente honoraire du Black Environmental Network, aborde la question de la diversité dans les communautés rurales. Enfin, Claire Somerville, de l’Institut de hautes études internationales et du développement de Genève (Suisse), se penche sur les disparités entre les femmes et les hommes.
